Presidents Message Roadeo Update
Dear CASTO Members,
I was honored to support our incredible California contestants at the 2025 International Safety Competition in Austin last weekend. Representing our state with professionalism and pride, these individuals put their skills to the test in the Texas heat—behind the wheel of buses they had never driven before, and up against top drivers from across the U.S. and Canada.
In the Type C category, Marco Mitreonofre from Zum Los Angeles and Liviu Convaciu from Yuba City Unified School District did a fantastic job. In the Type D category, we were proudly represented by Danelle Adams from Roseville Joint Union High School District and Sergio Duenas from First Student Riverside.
I’m thrilled to share that Danelle Adams placed 2nd overall—an outstanding achievement!
And if you’ve never thought about competing before, consider this: Marco has only been driving a school bus for five months. It’s never too early—or too late—to challenge yourself.
Dust off your boots and start preparing for 2026!
Wishing everyone some well-earned rest and relaxation this summer. Here’s to making 2025–2026 our best school year yet!
